GASIL® silicas are used in antiblocking applications to prevent the tendency of opposite faces of polyolefin and polyester films to adhere to one another during manufacture or use.

How It Works
Blocking is the tendency of film surfaces to stick to one another; it can cause severe problems during film winding operations and final packaging applications.  Incorporation of small quantities of GASIL® antiblocking silica into a film formulation confers a micro-rough surface to the film.  This reduces or eliminates blocking without adversely affecting other film properties.

GASIL® antiblocking silicas are produced in many grades covering a wide range of properties so that the end user will be able to find the ideal product that balances antiblocking performance with excellent film processing, optical, and physical characteristics.
