Powder coating is a well-established method for coating relatively small metal items. However, such coatings are difficult to matt due to the lack of film shrinkage, which accompanies solvent evaporation in conventional coatings. Amongst Gasil silicas the product Gasil GM2, which resists to the mechanical stress of the powder coatings process, provides a limited amount of gloss reduction. In post-addition the same product finds use as an anti-caking, free flow aid.
